This is one of the most common questions people ask when starting their health journey—and the truth is, it depends! Your starting point, activity levels, and even your lifestyle all play a role.
A good, healthy pace is about 0.4–1kg per week. That works out to around 1.6kg a month (very good), and up to 4kg a month (excellent progress!).
Why the “slow and steady” approach? Because losing weight gradually helps your body hold on to muscle while shedding fat. When weight comes off too quickly, it’s usually more water and muscle than fat—and that’s not what you want.
So, think of weight loss as a marathon, not a sprint. Small, steady steps add up to lasting results.
